Fish Southern Port Phillip Bay With a Skipper Who Knows It

Southern Port Phillip Bay is home to some of the best snapper and reef fishing close to Melbourne, and Captain Phil has spent 40 years learning where the fish are. From spring through to autumn, snapper are the main event, with solid catches on both our 5 and 6 hour trips. Between snapper bites we work the reef for sweep and trevally, and when the conditions suit, we troll for salmon or head over to Mud Island and South Channel Fort for flathead and southern calamari.

5 Hour:

$180 per person

6 Hour:

$210 per person

Suitable for the first time fisher or the experienced angler, we welcome all.

Trips proceed with a minimum of 7 passengers and a maximum of 12.

All rods, reels, bait and tackle supplied. Fish will be cleaned, filleted and bagged for your convenience, ready to cook up on the BBQ.

Every trip is run by an experienced skipper and crew, and everything you need is on board. All rods, reels, bait and tackle are supplied, and the crew are on hand to help with baiting up, rigging and unhooking, so first-timers and seasoned anglers are equally welcome. Back at the pier, your catch is cleaned, filleted and bagged, ready for the BBQ.

The Fine Print

Reservation Policy

Payments:

For Individual and small group bookings payment is required in full using a credit card over the phone.
For Private Charters a 30% deposit is required to make a reservation when booking using credit card, bank transfer or cheque.
Final payment on the day either credit card or cash.
Bookings are fully transferable and can be rescheduled with reasonable notice.
Refunds are not available.

Booking Terms and Conditions:

You MUST provide a mobile contact number whereby you are reachable either the night before of the morning of your trip.
Trips proceed with a Minimum of 6 passengers.
Rip Charters reserves the right to cancel a trip if minimum numbers are not met.

Check in Times:
To keep faith with other guests DEPARTURE TIMES FOR ALL TRIPS ARE EXACT. If you are late, you will have to make another appointment. Please allow plenty of time for Summer traffic and delays in finding a car park.

Cancelled Trips:
Transfers to another charter date will be issued when a trip is cancelled due to:

a. Rip Charters skipper regards the weather conditions as unsafe.
b. Unforseen circumstances outside of Rip Charters control.
