We offer 4Hr and 5Hr private charters chilling out and chasing a good catch of fish and loads of laughs.

Bucks Fishing Charters

4 Hour:

$1800 – 12 Passengers – extra passengers $150 per head to max 16

5 Hour:

$2160 – 12 Passengers – extra passengers $180 per head to max 16

Alcohol Consumption Policy

Some key notes regarding alcohol, alcoholic consumption and behavior:

• Rip Charters and its vessels subscribe to responsible drinking and if a passenger attempts to board the boat and the skipper deems them already intoxicated, they will be refused entry to the vessel.
• Being on a boat is not a license to get outrageously drunk. As with licensed venues (like pubs and hotels), intoxicated passengers will not be tolerated and may cause a charter to be terminated without refund.
• Beer is permitted in cans, 2/3 cans per person over 5hrs is acceptable.
• No bottles of clear spirits will be allowed onboard (ie tequila, vodka, gin, whisky etc) and definitely no shooters.
• Drinking water is required on all boat charters (at least one bottle per person).
• Ice boxes are provided on all vessels, so you don’t need to bring any eskys with you. However, you will need to bring your own bags of ice to keep your drinks cool.
• Treat our boats like you’d treat your own house. Keep it clean!
• Rubbish bins and bin liners are provided on our boat. Please use them! Boat crew will dispose of empty containers at the end of the cruise, but if you leave a mess on the boat, you will be charged for the clean up afterwards.

Let our friendly skipper and crew take the friends and family out for 4hrs of fishing fun.  This Summer will make it 35 years of experience fishing on and around Port Phillip Bay, so we want to share that knowledge with our customers and send them home with a bag of fish cleaned, filleted and bagged, ready for the BBQ.  On these trips we are generally targeting Flathead, Calamari, Salmon and Pinkies.  If time allows we will often head over to Chinaman’s Hat to have a look at he local seals lazing around on the structure.

Southern Port Phillip Bay is home to some of the best snapper and reef fishing close to Melbourne, and Captain Phil has spent 40 years learning where the fish are. From spring through to autumn, snapper are the main event, with solid catches on both our 5 and 6 hour trips. Between snapper bites we work the reef for sweep and trevally, and when the conditions suit, we troll for salmon or head over to Mud Island and South Channel Fort for flathead and southern calamari.

5 Hour:

$180 per person

6 Hour:

$210 per person

Suitable for the first time fisher or the experienced angler, we welcome all.

Trips proceed with a minimum of 7 passengers and a maximum of 12.

All rods, reels, bait and tackle supplied. Fish will be cleaned, filleted and bagged for your convenience, ready to cook up on the BBQ.

5 Hour Charter:

• $180 per head
• Private Charter – $2160 – 12 passengers (additional passengers @ $180 per head to Max 16)

Our 5hr Charter is our most popular trip and is suitable for beginners through to experienced anglers.  In season possible target species include Snapper, Gummy Shark, King George Whiting, Australian Salmon, Trevally, Sweep, Flathead, Barracouta, Calamari and Reef Species.   We do not target Shark on these trips.

6 Hour Charter:

• $210 per head
• Private Charter – $2520 – 12 passengers (additional passengers @ $210 per head to Max 16)

The 6 hour trips will, when conditions allow give us more time to travel further down to Barwon Heads where we focus on Snapper and in season Kingfish, but also depending on the weather on the day, may target species mentioned above such as Gummy Shark, King George Whiting, Australian Salmon, Trevally, Sweep, Flathead, Calamari and Reef Species.  If we find a shark hanging around the burley trail there is also a good chance we will get the shark rods out for a spin.
